I had some wonderful clients approach me a few months back about getting some pricing to renovate their existing deck. The deck was about 25-30 years old, it was a pressure treated pine deck, and it was starting to crumble. There were boards rotting out, there were railing posts shaking loose, and I was happy to evaluate its condition and report back to them that in my opinion, it was a prime candidate for a full gut and renovation.
So, I put some pricing together, and they decided that the best path forward would be just that, lets replace the framing as well as the decking. We knocked the deck down to the ground, and started from scratch. For a project like this, its always nice to have a brand new frame, especially when you go and install a product with a 25 or 50 year warranty like the Deckorators Khaya we put on top.
What a stunning piece of decking that is. They went with the contemporary cable railings as well to really set it off. This was such a fun project to work on, and happy to bring in a crew to help me pull this off. It was over 750 square feet by the time we did the sunroom, and the balcony off one of the bedrooms.
Check it out below! Stay well, and God bless you.
